BIKING TIPS
Riding bicycles is one of the healthiest & enjoyable methods of keeping fit. When you have a passion to ride the stylish & trendy bikes, you should know how to ride it safely. Refer to Atlas Bicycle Riding tips and relish every moment of your cycling.
LEARN TO RIDE
When you are a learner, always find a safe place to ride. Do not ride on concrete, muddy or half constructed roads. Your first ride on a gentle slope or short grass will help you maintain balance.
For the first timers, it is important to keep the cycle seat lower as this will support in riding the bike without falling & hurting oneself.
Make sure you are well aware of the bike brakes. Test to see which break controls the rear tyre and which break controls the front tyre.
One should learn to keep balance on the bike. In order to gain confidence on the balance, one should have control over speed. If you are practicing with a helper, he should your bike behind from the back and try to steady it as you pedal.
LEARN TO RIDE DOWNHILL: A few simple rules should be kept in mind while riding downhill.
Before riding, the terrain should be well scanned. The rider should know in advance about the difficult areas.
Keep a firm grip on the handlebars. The elbows should be kept low.
Rider should have firm control on the pedals. The pedals and the crank arms should be parallel to the ground.
The speed should be kept normal. If required, the ABS style brakes should be used to control the speed.
Getting off the saddle and riding in crouching posture would be an ideal approach to handle the low center of gravity.
A lot of caution is needed while applying the front brake. It shouldn’t be used frequently otherwise the chances are that the cycle may skid. Back brake should be preferred while trying to slow down the cycle
Protective gears like gloves, full helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, shin guards; etc. must be used for a steep downhill ride.
Above all a bike made for downhill rides should be preferred if possible.
